Balls to the Wall è il quinto album in studio della band heavy metal tedesca Accept pubblicato dall'etichetta discografica CBS Records nel 1983.[5] Il disco è stato registrato tra luglio e agosto dello stesso anno.[2]

Il disco


L'album è considerato tra i migliori della discografia degli Accept e si rivelò un successo a livello commerciale.[5][6] Nel 1990 Stati Uniti venne certificato disco d'oro per aver venduto più di 500 000 copie,[1] mentre in Canada ricevette lo stesso premio già nel 1985 avendo venduto più di 50 000 copie.[7] Per l'omonima canzone Balls to the Wall vennero realizzati un videoclip e un singolo (con B-side Losing More Than You've Ever Had) che uscì sia in versione 7" che 12".[8]

La prima versione in CD uscì nel 1990 edita da BMG con marchio RCA. Nel 2001 e nel 2002 è stato ristampato in versione rimasterizzata e con l'aggiunta di due bonus tracks tratte dall'EP live Kaizoku-Ban: Up to the Limit e Head Over Heels.[6] L'album uscì anche in doppio CD nel 2013, pubblicato dalla Hear No Evil Recordings; questa edizione contiene sul secondo disco il live Staying a Life.[9]

Balls to the Wall ist das fünfte Album der deutschen Heavy-Metal-Band Accept. Das Label Lark Records veröffentlichte das Album im Dezember 1983. Es ist das bekannteste und meistverkaufte Accept-Album, sie verkauften rund zwei Millionen Alben weltweit und in Amerika und Kanada gab es je eine Goldauszeichnung dafür.[1][2]

Balls to the Wall is the fifth studio album by German heavy metal band Accept. European label Lark Records released the album in December 1983, but its United States release was delayed until a month later in January 1984 as to not compete with the band's then-current album Restless and Wild, which had arrived in the US in early 1983. It is Accept's only record to attain Gold certification in the US.[1] The album's title track became Accept's signature tune and remains a metal anthem and trademark in the genre.
