Si tratta della traccia d'apertura del disco nonché tra i primi brani composti con il tastierista Jordan Fish, all'epoca non ancora parte della formazione.[4] Come evidenziato dal bassista Matt Kean, nel processo di composizione del brano il gruppo ha riconosciuto le potenzialità di Fish e il suo impatto che avrebbe potuto avere in futuro;[4] tale aspetto è stato condiviso anche dal cantante Oliver Sykes, che ha aggiunto:[5]

«Questo è stato il punto di svolta; è stato il primo brano in cui Jordan ha davvero messo i denti e ovviamente puoi sentirlo perché è molto pesante sull'elettronica. Il brano stava fluttuando da anni e penso che abbia davvero iniziato a brillare quando abbiamo preso la mia voce principale e l'abbiamo usata [sulle parti di tastiera] per il ritornello.»

Dal punto di vista musicale infatti Can You Feel My Heart si caratterizza per un massiccio utilizzo di sintetizzatori e beat ispirati al dubstep,[6] oltre a presentare una struttura più accessibile e assimilabile alla forma canzone rispetto alle passate pubblicazioni del gruppo.[7]
