Elastic Heart ha visto la partecipazione del cantante canadese The Weeknd e del DJ statunitense Diplo.

Una versione incisa dalla sola Sia è stata inserita nel suo sesto album in studio 1000 Forms of Fear, venendo estratta come quarto singolo dall'album il 7 gennaio 2015.


Video musicale


Il 14 novembre 2013 Sia ha annunciato attraverso Twitter di aver diretto il video del brano,[12] mentre il 6 gennaio 2015 Maddie Ziegler, protagonista del video di Chandelier, ne pubblicò un'anteprima.[13]

Il video è stato pubblicato ufficialmente il 7 gennaio 2015 e ha visto la partecipazione della Ziegler e dell'attore Shia LaBeouf; esso è stato criticato a causa della danza interpretativa eseguita dai due attori all'interno di una gabbia, con LaBeouf a torso nudo con soli boxer color carne e la ragazzina con un body dello stesso colore. Dopo svariate accuse l'artista si difende pubblicamente sulla propria pagina Twitter:[14][15]

«Ho sentito parlare addirittura di pedofilia riguardo a questo video. Tutto quello che posso dire è che Shia e Maddie erano gli unici due attori che sentivo potessero interpretare questa parte. Rappresentano due miei stati d'animo belligeranti. Voglio scusarmi con quanti si siano sentiti urtati da 'Elastic Heart': la mia intenzione era quella di confezionare un'opera di spessore emotivo, non quella di offendere qualcuno.»

"Elastic Heart" is a song written by Australian singer Sia, featuring Canadian singer the Weeknd and American record producer Diplo, for the soundtrack of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, a film based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. Andrew Swanson assisted the artists in writing the song, with production handled by Diplo and US producer Greg Kurstin. It was released on 1 October 2013 as a single from Catching Fire by RCA, Republic and Lionsgate. "Elastic Heart" peaked at number 7 on the singles chart of New Zealand and was certified gold by the Recorded Music NZ. It also appeared on the charts of Australia, Belgium, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
