Come anteprima per l'album la band pubblica cinque singoli: Ask for the Anthem il 4 febbraio 2019, Junkie$ il 29 ottobre 2019, Sunny il 12 dicembre 2019, Neo l'11 febbraio 2020 e Thousand Golden People il 27 febbraio 2020.
Questo è il primo album pubblicato dopo la partenza del frontman Luke Holmes (il quale ha comunuque partecipato alla stesura di alcuni brani del disco)[1] e del chitarrista Jimmy Hall, ed il primo con in formazione il bassista Twiggy Hunter.
Flip Phone Fantasy debutta all'8º posto della ARIA Albums Chart e al 1º posto della ARIA Vinyl Album Chart.[2]
Stile
Questo album prosegue la linea sperimentale del precedente lavoro The Rhapsody Tapes, con il gruppo che spazia fra vari generi musicali come nu metal, grunge, punk rock, rock alternativo, musica elettronica, hip hop, madchester, trip hop e rock progressivo.[3][4]

Flip Phone Fantasy is the second studio album by Australian nu metal band Ocean Grove. it was released on 13 March 2020 through UNFD Records. Their first single "Ask for the Anthem" was released on 6 February 2019.[1] The second single "JUNKIE$" was released on 28 October 2019.[2] The third single "Sunny" was released on 12 December 2019, while the music video for the single was released on 20 January 2020.[3] The fourth single "NEO" was released on 11 February 2020.[4] The fifth single "Thousand Golden People" was released on 27 February 2020 along with the announcement of the album's release date.[5] It is the first album to not feature Luke Holmes on vocals and Jimmy Hall on guitar, and the first album to feature Twiggy Hunter on bass and vocals with Dale Tanner switching to lead vocals; this can be heard on the album in a shift away from their previous hardcore punk influenced releases, as Flip Phone Fantasy takes more influence from rap metal and alternative rock, featuring far less screaming than their previous work.- [it] Flip Phone Fantasy
