Come anteprima dell'album la band pubblica il singolo These Boys Light Fire il 1º dicembre 2016 ed il 21 dicembre dello stesso anno esce il video musicale per il brano Intimate Alien.[1] Nella settimana della sua uscita, The Rhapsody Tapes si piazza al 5º posto della ARIA Albums Chart.[2] In seguito all'uscita dell'album la band pubblica i video musicali per i brani Thunderdome il 13 marzo 2017[3] e Stratosphere Love il 12 luglio 2017.[4]
Questo è l'unico full-length dove partecipano il cantante Luke Holmes ed il chitarrista Jimmy Hall.
Stile
Con questo album la band si allontana ulteriormente dalle sonorità metalcore e post-hardcore che hanno caratterizzato l'inizio della loro carriera, processo già iniziato con il precedente EP Black Label. In The Rhapsody Tapes la band propone un metal sperimentale che spazia fra vari generi come nu metal, hardcore punk, grunge, alternative, hip hop, dub e drum and bass.[5][6]

The Rhapsody Tapes is the debut studio album by Australian nu metal band Ocean Grove. it was released on 3 February 2017 through UNFD Records. Their first single "These Boys Light Fires" was released on 1 December 2016.[2] followed by another single "Intimate Alien" which was released on 21 December 2016 along with the music video for the single and the pre-order for the album.[3] The album reached #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart in its first week of release,[4][5] and was selected as a "Feature Album" by Australian radio station Triple J almost two weeks ahead of the album's release.[6]- [it] The Rhapsody Tapes
