Accolto con recensioni miste da parte della critica, Ghetto D è stato un grande successo commerciale per Master P, diventando il suo primo multi-platino certificato dalla RIAA. Ha raggiunto il primo posto sia tra gli album hip hop sia nella Billboard 200, vendendo oltre 200 000 copie nella sua prima settimana[3] e il 4 agosto del 2006, secondo SoundScan, avrebbe venduto 3 185 221 copie fisiche.[4]
