Il testo racconta il processo dello scrivere canzoni. Nel video si vede la cantante calva e nuda dalle spalle in su. Si scuote e si muove e man mano si trasforma in un orso polare.
In occasione del Björk Orkestral, serie di concerti del 2021 in cui ha celebrato la sua carriera, Björk ha affermato sulla canzone:[2]

«Hunter è stata scritta quando fuggivo dai paparazzi di Londra e mi trasferivo in uno studio nel Sud della Spagna. Andavo avanti e indietro per le spiagge invernali deserte, forse reclamando il territorio... È sull'energia che molti musicisti in tour riconoscono. Dopo esserti esibita a lungo, torni a scrivere... E devi andare a caccia di melodie affinché tu possa provvedere al tuo team. Sono tornata in studio con la melodia per questa canzone marciante... ho messo il bolero di Mark Bell dopo Ravel, e lui se n'è uscito con il suo 909 e ha scritto il ritmo in un'unica battuta. Il 909 è ancora entusiasmante per me.» |

"Hunter" is a song recorded by Icelandic singer Björk for her third studio album Homogenic (1997). The lyrics explore the pressure Björk felt to write music after realising the workforce that depended on her, following the success she found as a solo artist with her previous studio albums. The song was first performed at the 1997 Tibetan Freedom Concert and later included with the online promotional release of Homogenic; the track was subsequently released as the third single from the album as three different CD releases in the United Kingdom in October 1998, having been released in France four months prior.
