Il disco

Uscito nel 1975, questo disco contiene numerosi classici del gruppo, come In Trance, Robot Man e Dark Lady. In Trance è considerato dalla critica come il migliore album del gruppo con il chitarrista Ulrich Roth: in questo album infatti i suoi assoli sono al massimo livello. In Trance è il primo album in cui suona il batterista Rudy Lenners ed è anche il primo album prodotto da Dieter Dierks. Il contributo più visibile del produttore è stato quello di raggruppare la maggior parte delle composizioni della coppia Schenker / Meine sul lato A e le canzoni di Roth sul lato B, dando all'album un doppio aspetto e una ricchezza che non si trovano sui due precedenti lavori di gruppo. Dierks ha poi riorientato i titoli in un formato più accessibile (anziché fare canzoni da 7-9 minuti le portò a 3-4 minuti). In Trance ebbe un favorevole successo in Germania, ma è conosciuto anche in altri Paesi, come l'Inghilterra, in Francia o in Giappone (in particolare grazie al successo della omonima In Trance).

In Trance ist das dritte Studio-Album der deutschen Hard-Rock-Band Scorpions, welches 1975 veröffentlicht wurde. Die Platte markierte den Beginn einer besonderen Ära, da die Gruppe hier erstmals unter der Leitung des Produzenten Dieter Dierks eine LP aufnahm und sie damit eine Geschäftsbeziehung begann, die bis ans Ende der darauffolgenden Dekade anhalten sollte. In Trance markierte für die Band den Durchbruch in Japan.

In Trance is the third studio album by German rock band Scorpions and it was released by RCA Records in 1975. The music was a complete departure from the progressive krautrock of the two previous albums. Instead, a hard rock sound of shorter and tighter arrangements with which the band would achieve their later global success and fame emerged. Extended suites in the vein of songs such as "Lonesome Crow" and "Fly to the Rainbow" are absent altogether. This was the first of two studio albums to feature drummer Rudy Lenners, and the first album by the band to contain the now-famous logo and controversial artwork.

Esta es la primera producción grabada con el batería belga Rudy Lenners, quien ingresó en medio de la gira Fly to the Rainbow Tour (1974-1975). Grabado en los Dierks Studios en Colonia, es además el primer trabajo de la agrupación con el productor Dieter Dierks, cuyas recomendaciones, como acortar la duración de las canciones y dejar atrás las influencias del rock psicodélico, ayudaron a potenciar a Scorpions en los mercados internacionales.
