Seguendo il successo del debutto, l'album ha esordito al terzo posto della Billboard 200.[8]


Descrizione


Prodotto da Ross Robinson, l'album si compone di dodici brani e di due reinterpretazioni, ovvero quelle di Wicked di Ice Cube, eseguita in collaborazione con Chino Moreno dei Deftones, e Lowrider dei War, che vede alla voce il chitarrista Brian "Head" Welch.

Nel brano d'apertura Twist il frontman Jonathan Davis fa uso della tecnica dello scatting, cioè per tutta la durata del brano il cantante non fa altro che urlare parole prive di alcun senso, se si esclude la parola Twist, pronunciata durante il ritornello della canzone. Il secondo brano, Chi, è invece un omaggio al bassista dei Deftones Chi Cheng, come spiegato da Davis in un'intervista:[9]

«Sì, l'abbiamo dedicata a Chi perché lui diceva che aveva molto di reggae, e noi sappiamo che Chi adora il reggae. Così, inizialmente avevamo deciso di chiamarla Reggae ma, dopo che io scrissi il testo, decidemmo di cambiare il titolo in Chi, perché ogni volta che la suoniamo pensiamo a lui.»

Life Is Peachy is the second studio album by American nu metal band Korn. It was released on October 15, 1996, through both Immortal Records and Epic Records. After the release of Korn's 1994 self-titled debut album, the band reunited with Ross Robinson to produce and went back to Indigo Ranch Studios to record. Life Is Peachy features such themes as drugs, social encounters, sex, betrayal, and revenge. The album has fourteen tracks, excluding the hidden track after "Kill You". Its cover art was designed by Martin Riedl, and its name is credited to Korn's bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu. Life Is Peachy was Korn's first significant breakthrough, which came from constant touring after the debut album release and building a fan base, thus fueling great expectations.
