Il singolo ha visto la partecipazione alla parte vocale del cantante statunitense Sam Martin.

Il brano è stato scritto e composto dagli stessi interpreti, da Frédéric Riesterer, Giorgio Tuinfort, Jason Evigan, Michael Einziger, Avicii ed è stato prodotto dallo stesso Guetta, da Avicii, Riesterer, Tuinfort e da Daddy's Groove. Inoltre il singolo è ispirato al genere musicale di Ennio Morricone e invece riguardo al genere cinematografico: spaghetti western.

Il videoclip prodotto in tema Western, è stato pubblicato il 12 agosto 2014. Prima della sua pubblicazione vi era un video lyric anch'esso realizzato in tema Western. Nel video partecipa un quasi irriconoscibile Ray Liotta, con barba bianca e cappello da cowboy nero: la star di "Quei bravi ragazzi" interpreta il ruolo del "cattivo" (The Villain) intento a torturare il "buono" (The Good), quando quest'ultimo viene salvato da una ragazza (The Sexy) con poteri magici.


Successo commerciale


Il singolo ha avuto molto successo in diversi stati come l'Australia e la Germania, mentre in Italia ha debuttato al quarto posto.

Der Gesang stammt vom US-amerikanischen Singer-Songwriter Sam Martin.[1] Das Lied wurde am 30. Juni 2014 als Download veröffentlicht und von Guetta, Sam Martin, Frédéric Riesterer, Giorgio Tuinfort, Jason Evigan, Mike Einziger und Avicii geschrieben.[2] In Deutschland, Österreich, Großbritannien und Finnland erreichte es Platz eins der Singlecharts.

"Lovers on the Sun" is a song by French music producer David Guetta from his sixth studio album, Listen. It features vocals by American singer and songwriter Sam Martin.[2] It was released as a digital download and the lead single from the album on 30 June 2014. It was produced by Guetta, Avicii, Riesterer, and Tuinfort, with additional production from Italian house production team Daddy's Groove.[3] The track crowned the singles chart in Austria, Finland, Germany and the United Kingdom, and reached the top 40 in most of the countries where it charted.
