Il 15 settembre 2014, è annunciato ufficialmente che Royce da 5'9" e DJ Premier hanno lavorato assieme per la pubblicazione di un album.[2] Il 17 ottobre è pubblicato Courtesy, singolo promozionale per l'uscita dell'album.[3] Il 22 ottobre seguente, è pubblicato il video musicale per U Looz.[4] Seguono i video musicali per i brani PRhyme,[5] il teaser del singolo Courtesy,[6] il video di You Should Know[7] e quello di Courtesy, pubblicato il 26 ottobre 2015.[8]

PRhyme ha ricevuto un plauso universale da parte della critica: Metacritic assegna all'album 84/100,[13] Exclaim! 8/10,[10] RapReviews 8,5/10,[11] Allmusic 4 stelle su 5,[1] HipHopDX 4 stelle su 5[14] e XXL 4 stelle su 5.[12]

PRhyme debutta alla cinquantanovesima posizione della Billboard Hot 200,[15] vendendo 13.547 nella prima settimana negli Stati Uniti.[16] Nella classifica statunitense degli album commercializzati in formato digitale, PRhyme raggiunge il diciottesimo posto,[17] arrivando al settimo nella Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums,[18] al sesto tra gli album indipendenti in USA[19] e riuscendo a raggiungere il terzo posto nella Top Rap Album.[1]

PRhyme is the debut studio album by American hip hop duo PRhyme, consisting of Royce da 5'9" and DJ Premier.[1] The album was released on December 9, 2014, through their own record label PRhyme Records.[2] The album features guest appearances from rappers Killer Mike, Jay Electronica, Common, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Slaughterhouse, Mac Miller and soul singer Dwele.[3] PRhyme features production by DJ Premier, as well as samples from psychedelic soul composer and producer Adrian Younge.[4] The album was supported by the single "Courtesy". A sequel, PRhyme 2, was released on March 16, 2018.
