L'album venne accompagnato dal singolo The Beatles Movie Medley che entrò nella Billboard Top 20, raggiungendo la posizione 19. Attualmente non è disponibile su CD.


Descrizione


A nome dei Beatles erano state pubblicate numerosissime raccolte negli anni settanta. Nel 1982 la EMI pensò di raccogliere in un album alcuni dei brani apparsi nei film dei Beatles: A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine e Let It Be. Nell'album vennero incluse le cinque title tracks ed altri brani scelti fra i tanti apparsi nei loro film.

L'album conteneva un libretto di foto lungo 12 pagine. Non è entrato nelle classifiche[1].

Reel Music (englisch Filmmusik [sinngemäß] → ‚Reel‘ = Filmspule) ist das achte Kompilationsalbum der britischen Gruppe The Beatles nach deren Trennung, das bisher veröffentlichte Aufnahmen beinhaltet, in den USA deren sechstes. Das Album erschien am 23. März 1982 in Großbritannien, am 22. März 1982 in den USA und am 24. März 1982 in Deutschland.

The album was released on 22 March 1982 in the United States and the following day in the United Kingdom – almost simultaneously with the theatrical re-release of the film, A Hard Day's Night, which had been "cleaned" and re-edited with stereo Dolby sound. In the US, Reel Music peaked at number 19 on Billboard's albums chart.[4]

Из особенностей выпусков альбома в разных странах можно отметить издание для Новой Зеландии, сделанное Parlophone (номер по каталогу PCS 7218), где внутренняя сторона обложки и буклет были взяты из оформления, сделанного для альбома Capitol.
