Il 45 giri (lato B: It's A Shame) salì fino alla posizione numero 30 nella classifica R&B di Billboard negli Stati Uniti,[2] e alla 77ª nella UK Singles Chart britannica.[3] Caratterizzato da una traccia vocale pesantemente trattata per sembrare robotica, il brano è stato definito "la più grande traccia electro dei primi anni" da Mark Richardson nella sua recensione dell'album The Message su Pitchfork Media.[4] Il titolo della canzone deriva dal nome di uno dei componenti del gruppo, il rapper "Scorpio" (Eddie Morris alias Mr. Ness).

Scorpio is a 1981 song by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, released in 1982 as a single from their album ‘’The Message’’ (1982). It reached #30 on the R&B Singles chart[2] and #77 on the UK Singles Chart.[3] It was dubbed the "greatest early electro track" by Mark Richardson in his album review for Pitchfork Media.[4] The track was named after one of the members of the group, rapper Scorpio (Eddie Morris aka Mr. Ness). In 2006, it was featured on the soundtrack of Need for Speed: Carbon.
