Nel testo del brano, la protagonista descrive tre uomini: un so-tutto-io (che definisce ironicamente un "ingegnere aerospaziale"), un uomo attento al suo aspetto (che definisce "Brad Pitt") e un uomo ossessionato dalla sua auto. La protagonista del brano sostiene che, sebbene questi uomini abbiano dei vantaggi, lei cerca qualcuno con il 'tocco' giusto, che non la faccia sentire sola nelle fredde e lunghe notti.[10]

Il brano è diventato il terzo più grande risultato della cantante nella Billboard Hot 100, ed è considerato uno dei brani più conosciuti della cantante.


Video musicale


Il video musicale è stato girato nel deserto del Mojave, al "El Mirage Dry Lake" e a Barstow, California, ed è stato diretto da Paul Boyd il 3 e il 4 novembre 1998. Il video è stato poi pubblicato il 2 dicembre 1998. Nel video la cantante, vestita con un lungo abito leopardato con cappuccio e valigia coordinata, cammina lungo il deserto, facendo occasionalmente l'autostop ai pochi mezzi di passaggio. Il primo uomo che si ferma a offrirle un passaggio è un motociclista e poi a seguire, un camionista, un uomo in macchina, un altro in jeep ed infine un affascinante beduino a cavallo. In tutte le occasioni, Shania rifiuta il passaggio, evidentemente non impressionata dal proponente (come suggerisce il testo della canzone). Il video ha vinto il riconoscimento come "Video dell'anno" sia al Canadian Country Music Awards che al MuchMoreMusic Award nel 1999.

"That Don't Impress Me Much" is a song co-written and recorded by Canadian singer Shania Twain. It was released in December 1998 as the sixth country single, and seventh single overall, from her third studio album, Come On Over (1997). It was third to pop and fourth to international markets. The song was written by Robert John "Mutt" Lange and Twain, and was originally released to North American country radio stations in late 1998. It became her third biggest single on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains one of Twain's biggest hits worldwide. "That Don't Impress Me Much" has appeared in all of Twain's tours (Come On Over, Up!, Rock This Country and Now). The country version was performed on the Come on Over Tour and the dance version on the Up! Tour. "That Don't Impress Me Much" was named Foreign Hit of the Year at the 2000 Danish Grammy Awards.[2] A dance-pop remix of the song was used as the official song of the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
