The Shape of Punk to Come (sottotitolato A Chimerical Bombination in 12 Bursts) è il terzo album in studio del gruppo musicale svedese Refused, pubblicato il 27 ottobre 1998 dalla Startracks e dalla Burning Heart Records.[1]

Descrizione

Si tratta dell'ultima pubblicazione prima dello scioglimento del gruppo avvenuto nello stesso anno. Il titolo dell'album è un riferimento intenzionale al disco del 1959 di Ornette Coleman The Shape of Jazz to Come. Dal punto di vista musicale rappresenta una novità per i Refused, che introducono al loro tipico hardcore punk elementi che spaziano dalla musica d'ambiente al jazz.[1]

Nel 2010 la Epitaph Records ha pubblicato un'edizione deluxe composto da un CD bonus dal vivo e l'album video Refused Are Fucking Dead;[1] questa nuova versione è stata messa in commercio a partire dal 7 giugno in Europa e il giorno seguente Stati Uniti d'America.[2]
