Descrizione


Si tratta del primo album registrato insieme al batterista Dirk Verbeuren nonché il primo dai tempi di Dystopia, uscito sei anni, segnando il divario più lungo tra due album in studio nella carriera della band. In produzione da più di due anni, l'album è stato prodotto da Mustaine e Chris Rakestraw.

Durante la registrazione dell'album, il bassista fondatore David Ellefson è stato licenziato dalla band a causa di uno scandalo sessuale. Le sue parti di basso sono state rimosse dall'album e sono state registrate nuovamente dal bassista dei Testament Steve DiGiorgio.[2]


Promozione


Il 20 giugno 2022 è stato lanciato un sito apposito atto a promuovere l'album.[3] Tre giorni più tardi è stato diffuso il primo singolo We'll Be Back, uscito insieme al relativo video.[4]

The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead! is the sixteenth studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released on September 2, 2022, on frontman Dave Mustaine's Tradecraft label via Universal.[2] It is the first Megadeth album to feature drummer Dirk Verbeuren, the second Megadeth album to feature guitarist Kiko Loureiro, and their first studio album in six years since Dystopia (2016), marking the longest gap between two studio albums in the band's career. In production for more than two years, the album was produced by Mustaine and Chris Rakestraw.[1] During the album's recording, founding bassist David Ellefson was dismissed from the band due to a sex scandal. His bass parts were removed from the album and were re-recorded by Testament bassist Steve Di Giorgio.
