Il titolo dell'album è un omaggio ad Affirmative Action, canzone presente in It Was Written (1996) di Nas divenuta ufficiosamente la prima del supergruppo hip hop The Firm. In particolare, il titolo si riferisce al verso dove Foxy Brown rappa «They praise Allah with vision of Gandhi.»[2]

Il brano The Wolf campiona il tema di un livello del videogioco Max Payne e alcuni discorsi del personaggio Jack Lupino.

È inoltre il primo album dei Jedi Mind Tricks a entrare nella classifiche statunitensi, pur non riuscendo a fare breccia nella Billboard 200.

Il terzo lavoro dei Jedi Mind Tricks ottiene recensioni miste. John Bush di AllMusic ne critica negativamente il cambio di produzione e i temi, plaudendo agli ospiti Ras Kass e Kool G Rap:[1] «sembra più una scuola di medicina che un album rap.»[1] Entusiastica la recensione di Steve Juon per RapReviews: l'autore tesse le lodi all'intero progetto, affermando che «sfiora la perfezione».[3]

Visions of Gandhi is the third studio album from underground hip hop group Jedi Mind Tricks, and their first album on the Babygrande record label. Jus Allah split from the group after the release of their album Violent by Design (2000), returning the group back to its original lineup of Vinnie Paz, Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind and DJ Drew Dollars. Producer Stoupe expands his dark sounds, including beats with grand orchestral samples and Latin-tinged production. Vinnie Paz lessens his lyrical topics to focus on his thug persona. Album guests include Canibus, Kool G Rap, Percee P, Ras Kass, and Tragedy Khadafi, as well as underground peers Crypt the Warchild, Planetary of OuterSpace, and Non Phixion members Ill Bill, Sabac Red, and Goretex.
