Under a Funeral Moon последний альбом в котором участвовал гитарист Zephyrous. Человек, которого можно видеть на обложке альбома — вокалист Nocturno Culto. В 2001 году диск был переиздан. В 2003 году альбом снова переиздан в формате дигипак и ремастирован, в качестве бонуса было также добавлено видео-интервью с группой.

Under a Funeral Moon is the third studio album by Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone. It was recorded in June 1992 and released on 15 February 1993 by Peaceville Records.[3] Written and recorded with the aim of creating a "pure black metal album", it is the second of what is dubbed the band's "Unholy Trinity", along with A Blaze in the Northern Sky and Transilvanian Hunger.[1] Under a Funeral Moon was the last album on which guitarist Zephyrous (Ivar Enger) performed; he left the band shortly after its release.

Under a Funeral Moon es el tercer álbum de la banda noruega de black metal Darkthrone, que marcó el alejamiento definitivo por parte del grupo del sonido death metal de sus anteriores grabaciones (A Blaze in the Northern Sky aún contaba con algunas estructuras propias del Death) y la entrada de lleno en el género del Black Metal. En este álbum, Darkthrone comienzan también a experimentar con unos riffs de guitarra más melódicos que contarían con gran importancia en su emblemática grabación Transilvanian Hunger. Under a Funeral Moon tiene mala calidad de grabación y es el último disco de Darkthrone con tres miembros ya que en Transilvanian Hunger, Zephyrous deja la banda.[1]
