One True Voice were a British boy band created on the ITV television series Popstars: The Rivals. In the show, pop groups of both sexes were created through a public vote and competed in the UK Singles Chart for the 2002 Christmas number one single. In the contest, One True Voice with the double A-side "Sacred Trust / After You're Gone" won out to girl group Girls Aloud and "Sound of the Underground". However on release the chart positions were reversed, with Girls Aloud topping the chart and One True Voice only reaching number two. In June 2003, Daniel Pearce left the group to pursue a solo career. The band released a further single in 2003, however after cancelling a tour due to poor ticket sales, the group topped a poll for "Britain's Worst Group". By August 2003, the group had fully disbanded without releasing an album.[1]
