Scum of the Earth is an American heavy metal band. They have released three albums and eight singles. The band formed in 2003 when Rob Zombie set aside his music career, focusing on writing and directing movies.

Band name

The band's name comes from a 1978 episode of the television series WKRP in Cincinnati. The Hoodlum Rock episode is about a concert being promoted at the station, of a "hoodlum rock" band called Scum of the Earth.

Scum of the Earth es una banda de Heavy metal[1][2] procedentes de Bridgend, Gales. El grupo se constituyó originalmente bajo el nombre de "Jeff Killed John" en 1997, versionando canciones de Metallica. Las dificultades económicas marcaron un cambio en la dirección de su música y en el nombre de la banda. Se renombró como Bullet For My Valentine y consiguió un contrato de grabación con Roadrunner Records. Aunque el grupo rechazó la oferta, llegó a un acuerdo con Sony BMG para la grabación de cinco discos.
