Jang Yoon-jeong (Korean: 장윤정, born February 16, 1980) is a South Korean trot singer, commonly referred to as “The Queen of Trot”.[2] Jang debuted in 1999 and became well-known in 2004 when her single "Eomeona!" ("Oh My Goodness!") topped the charts.[3] The song is often credited with helping re-popularize trot music in South Korea.[4] In 2017, a Gallup poll found that Jang was the third-most popular singer in the country.[5] She often appears on the KBS 1TV 'Golden Oldies (Korean: 가요무대)’, as well as other singing programmes.[6]

Career

In April 2005, Jang debuted in Japan with the release of "Oh, My Goodness."[7]

On April 5, she became new MC of KBS program Escaping Danger Number One.[8] Her interview was spilled before the broadcast of Healing Camp, Aren't You Happy.[9]

In August 2014, Jang signed with agency KOEN Stars, home to MCs Lee Hwi-jae and Lee Kyung-kyu, after her former agency Inwoo Production closed down.[10][11]

Personal life

On June 29, 2013, Jang married news announcer Do Kyung-wan in Yeouido, Western Seoul.[12] The couple welcomed son Yeon-woo on June 13, 2014, and later daughter Ha-young on November 8, 2018.[13][14][15] From 2019 to 2022, the family was featured on popular reality series The Return of Superman.

Jang Yun-jeong (en hangul, 장윤정; en hanja, 張允瀞; Chungju, Chungcheong del Norte, 16 de febrero de 1980) es una cantante y MC surcoreana. Debutó en el mundo del espectáculo en 1999,[1] aunque se dio a conocer en el mundo de la fama a principios de 2005 con su sencillo "Eomeona!" 어머나!, que significa "Oh my goodness!" (en inglés). Aunque en sus 20 años, ella había decidido quedarse con un género musical principalmente estereotipado a los coreanos de mayor edad, le ha apostado junto con sus éxitos, sus cinco álbumes de estudio (el último de ellos lanzado en junio de 2010) y sus dos EP. Ella es una de los maestros de ceremonia del programa Challenge 1000 Song de SBS.
