Biographie


Mandisa Hundley est née et a grandi à Citrus Heights[1]. Après avoir été graduée du El Camino Fundamental High School, elle a fréquenté l'American River College à Sacramento, où elle a étudié le jazz vocal[2]. Ensuite, elle a étudié à l’université Fisk à Nashville dans le Tennessee et a obtenu un baccalauréat en musique avec une spécialisation en performance vocale[2].

En 2005, Mandisa a auditionné pour le concours de talent américain «American Idol» à Chicago. Elle termine dans le Top 9[3].


Carrière


En 2007, elle signe avec le label de musique chrétienne évangélique Sparrow Records et sort son premier album True Beauty. En 2009, elle sort son 3e album Freedom. En 2014, elle remporte un Grammy Awards pour Overcomer dans la catégorie « Meilleur album de musique chrétienne contemporaine »[4].

Mandisa Lynn Hundley (born October 2, 1976),[1][2] known professionally as Mandisa, is an American gospel and contemporary Christian recording artist. Her career began as a contestant in the fifth season of American Idol, in which she finished in ninth place. She is the fifth American Idol alumna to win a Grammy Award, for her album Overcomer in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album category.[3]
