Norman Connors né le 1^er mars 1947 à Philadelphie est un chanteur, batteur et compositeur de soul, jazz américain.

Biographie

Très jeune, il commence à jouer du piano et de la batterie et s'intéresse au jazz, notamment à Elvin Jones et John Coltrane. Il étudie la musique à l'université Temple à Philadelphie et à la Juilliard School à New York[1]. Son premier enregistrement est sur un disque d'Archie Shepp. En 1971, il participe comme Batteur à un album de Pharoah Sanders.

Norman Connors (born March 1, 1947)[1][2] is an American jazz drummer, composer, arranger, and producer who has led a number of influential jazz and R&B groups. He also achieved several big R&B hits of the day, especially with love ballads. He is possibly best known for the 1976 hit, "You Are My Starship" on which lead vocals were sung by Michael Henderson.[3]
