Dernière Volonté

Nel suo primo periodo, Dernière Volonté pubblicò una serie di album di musica post-industriale di ispirazione neofolk. È il caso di Obeir Et Mourir pubblicato inizialmente, in perfetto stile tape network post-industriale, solo su cassetta dalla La Nouvelle Alliance nel 1998[2]. Con il primo album dal titolo Le Feu Sacré, uscito su marchio Hau Ruck! di proprietà di Albin Julius, il suo sound virò poi verso tonalità più espressamente dark ambient e martial industrial, dando un valore particolare all'atmosfera, alle ritmiche militari ed ai campioni di tipo storico, ai quali sommava una voce piuttosto enfatica e melodica.

Importante nel suo percorso fu Les Blessures de l'Ombre (Hau Ruck!, 2003) che segnò un nuovo cambio di sonorità, che applicava uno stile marziale a melodie vocali di stampo decisamente pop[3]. La sua evoluzione si diresse poi sempre più verso sonorità Synth-pop, che risentiranno anche dell'influenza del suo nuovo progetto parallelo Position Parallèle del 2008.

Nel 2008 Geoffroy D inaugura un progetto parallelo di stampo marcatamente elettronico chiamato Position Parallèle. Con questo nome realizzò una serie di album tra EBM e minimal wave.

Dernière Volonté (Last Will, in English) is the name under which French musician Geoffroy D writes his own music. Throughout an 'industrial' early period, Geoffroy tended to write a fusion of martial music and dark ambient. Choosing to focus on atmosphere, militaristic rhythms, and historical samples, he left little emphasis to be placed on vocals and melody. However, with the release of his 2003 effort, Les Blessures de l'Ombre, Geoffroy took a new direction, applying his martial style to verse-chorus song structures and pop melodies. In 2008, Geoffroy started an electronic side-project called Position Parallèle which fused together EBM with minimal wave style sounds. This led to a more distinctly synthpop sound being carried over into his work as Dernière Volonté as well. His 2016 album, Prie Pour Moi, shifted his sound toward more neofolk instrumentation with less emphasis on synthesizers. A new Position Parallèle album, titled En Garde à Vue, was released in 2017.

Dernière Volonté est un projet de dark wave français, initié par le musicien Geoffroy « Geoffroy D. » Delacroix. Geoffroy est apparu en tant qu'invité sur les albums When All Else Fails! et Time is Thee Enemy!, The Philosopher Stone et un remix complet de l'album Cosmic Trigger de Der Blutharsch. Il a également collaboré avec les groupes Nový Svět, His Divine Grace, Foresta di Ferro et le groupe EBM Die Krupps.
