Biografia

Dopo essersi laureata alla Ball State University,[1] Tiara Thomas ha avviato la sua carriera pubblicando una serie di mixtape e firmando con la The Board Administration.[2] Nel 2013 ha collaborato con Wale in Bad, singolo arrivato alla 21ª posizione della Billboard Hot 100[3] e certificato doppio disco di platino in madrepatria.[4] Come co-autrice di I Can't Breathe di H.E.R., nel 2021 ha vinto il Grammy Award per la canzone dell'anno.[5] Nello stesso anno, come co-autrice di Fight for You della medesima interprete per Judas and the Black Messiah, è stata candidata ai Golden Globe e ai Premi Oscar per la miglior canzone originale,[6] vincendo quest'ultimo premio.[7]

Tiara Nicole Thomas (born September 12, 1989) is an American R&B singer. In 2013, she was featured on the Wale single "Bad", which has been certified 3× Platinum by Recording Industry Association of America.[1][2] That same year, Thomas landed a label deal with Interscope Records, a label under the Interscope-Geffen-A&M group. In 2021, she won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for co-writing "I Can't Breathe".[3] That same year, she received a Golden Globe nomination and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song, for co-writing the song "Fight for You", from Judas and the Black Messiah.[4][5]
