The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here ist das fünfte Studioalbum der US-amerikanischen Rockband Alice in Chains. Es erschien am erstmals am 24. Mai 2013 bei Capitol Records.[1]

Entstehung

Die Band griff bei dem Album nicht auf übriggebliebene Songs des vorhergehenden Albums Black Gives Way to Blue, die es gab, zurück, sondern schrieb neues Songmaterial. Dieses Mal nahm die Band jedoch alle Stücke auf, die sie hatte, so dass keine Titel übrig blieben.[2] Das Album entstand von 2011 bis 2013, produziert wurde es erneut von Nick Raskulinecz, der auch schon beim Vorgängeralbum für die Band tätig war. Abgemischt wurde die Platte von Randy Staub. Die Aufnahmen fanden in den Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles statt. Jerry Cantrell, der sich vor den Aufnahmen von einer Schulteroperation erholen musste, äußerte sich sehr zufrieden über das Album.[2]

The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on May 28, 2013 through Capitol Records (and the band's final album released by the label).[5] It is the band's second reunion album.[6] Following a worldwide tour in support of its previous album, Black Gives Way to Blue (2009), Alice in Chains began work on a new album. The making of The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here lasted for more than a year and the release of the album was delayed numerous times. The band entered the studio in July 2011 to start work on their fifth album.[7] During the writing and recording sessions, guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell underwent shoulder surgery, which resulted in the delay of the album.[8] The recording sessions of The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here were completed in December 2012.[3]
