Prodotto da Hugh Jones e dallo stesso Bailey, il singolo ha raggiunto la ventinovesima posizione dell'allora classifica musicale ufficiale Kent Music Report nel 1986,[2] ed è stato pubblicato in altri paesi dalla Polydor Records nel 1987. Ne è stato realizzato anche un videoclip, trasmesso in diverse nazioni.

- Nel 1993 Chuck Prophet incide una cover della title track Just Like Fire Would,[3] pubblicata nella compilation tributo ai Saints Neurotically Yours - A Tribute To The Saints, dell'etichetta discografica Still Sane Records in Germania.
- Il 14 gennaio 2014 Bruce Springsteen assieme a Tom Morello,[3] dopo aver suonato dal vivo il brano durante le esibizioni in Australia del Wrecking Ball World Tour nel 2013, ne ha realizzata una cover, pubblicata nel suo diciottesimo album in studio High Hopes. Il brano è stato poi pubblicato come singolo promozionale il 22 gennaio 2014 e ne è stato realizzato un videoclip.

"Just Like Fire Would" is a song by Australian alternative rock band, the Saints, which is written by the band's lead singer, Chris Bailey, and was released as a single in March 1986.[1][2][3] It was the lead single from their seventh studio album, All Fools Day (April 1986),[2] and peaked at No. 29 on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart.[4] It was produced by Hugh Jones, who had co-produced the album with Bailey.[5] AllMusic's John Dougan reviewed All Fools Day and opined, "One listen to songs as grabbing as 'Celtic Ballad' or the great 'Just Like Fire Would' (which is kind of a neat pun) will convince you that despite the differences, the new Saints were a good band for completely different reasons than the old Saints."- [it] Just Like Fire Would
