Descrizione
Composto da cinque brani, si tratta della prima pubblicazione di Neal Morse nel quale ha coinvolto gli storici collaboratori Mike Portnoy e Randy George (a cui si sono uniti il polistrumentista Bill Hubauer e il chitarrista Eric Gillette) direttamente nel processo di composizione:[2]

L'album è stato anticipato dal video musicale della title-track, uscito a gennaio,[3] ed è stato promosso dall'Alive Again Tour, durato per tutto il 2015 e che ha visto come artisti di apertura i Beardfish.[4]

The Grand Experiment is the first album by the progressive rock supergroup The Neal Morse Band. The album was composed and recorded over a short period of time, with no preparation work before entering the studio. This is the first time Morse has recorded this way, with no pre-prepared material (and as a completely collaborative effort with his new band), hence the album's title.[5][6][7] It was released on February 10, 2015, in three formats: single CD edition, a special edition which includes the album plus a bonus CD and DVD, and a double CD and vinyl edition.[8] A music video for the title track was released on January 7, 2015.[5]- [it] The Grand Experiment
