Anche il gruppo musicale statunitense Metallica realizzò una reinterpretazione di Turn the Page, pubblicandola come singolo il 16 novembre 1998 come primo estratto dall'album di cover Garage Inc..[4] Il batterista Lars Ulrich ascoltò il brano originale mentre guidava lungo il Golden Gate Bridge e più tardi commentò che l'aveva immaginato con la voce di James Hetfield.[5] La cover della band segue lo stesso tempo del brano originale, ma con un sentimento più pesante. La parte in sassofono viene sostituita da uno slide di chitarra di Kirk Hammett e James Hetfield esegue un assolo di chitarra prima dell'ultimo ritornello.


Video musicale

Il videoclip, diretto da Jonas Åkerlund e pubblicato il 28 ottobre 1998, parla della vita di una spogliarellista, interpretata dalla pornostar Ginger Lynn, che si prostituisce per poter mantenere e crescere una figlia.

"Turn the Page" is a song originally recorded by Bob Seger in 1971 and released on his Back in '72 album in 1973. It was not released as a single[1] until Seger's live version of the song on the 1976 Live Bullet album got released in Germany and the UK. The song became a mainstay of album-oriented rock radio stations, and still gets significant airplay on classic rock stations.
