Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison is the first live album by American singer-songwriter Johnny Cash, released on Columbia Records on May 6, 1968. After his 1955 song "Folsom Prison Blues", Cash had been interested in recording a performance at a prison. His idea was put on hold until 1967, when personnel changes at Columbia Records put Bob Johnston in charge of producing Cash's material. Cash had recently controlled his drug abuse problems, and was looking to turn his career around after several years of limited commercial success. Backed by June Carter, Carl Perkins, and the Tennessee Three, Cash performed two shows at Folsom State Prison in California on January 13, 1968. The album consists of 15 songs from the first show and two from the second.

At Folsom Prison es el primer álbum en vivo del cantante country Johnny Cash grabado en la prisión estatal de Folsom, California y lanzado por Columbia Records en 1968. Desde que publicó su canción Folsom Prison Blues en 1955, Cash se interesó en poder dar un concierto en dicha prisión. Esta idea no fue comunicada a los directivos de Columbia Records hasta el año 1967. En la grabación del álbum participaron artistas como June Carter, Carl Perkins y la banda de Cash "the Tennessee Three". Cash, realizó dos conciertos en dicha prisión; ambos el 13 de enero de 1968. Del disco resultante, se incluyeron 15 canciones del primer concierto y dos del segundo. En el álbum se incluyen canciones como "Greystone Chapel" que fue escrita por un prisionero de la cárcel llamado Glen Sherley. La noche antes del concierto el sacerdote de la prisión se presentó ante Johnny y le mostró la canción interpretada por el prisionero y rápidamente hizo que la incluyeran en el álbum y la presentación.Aunque Cash respetaba las plegarias de los prisioneros ellos lo respetaban a él y sus melodías por lo tanto se quedaron en silencio y tuvieron que agregarle gritos y abucheos después de la grabación. El disco lanzado en 1968 corta partes de las canciones y saca otras por motivo de tiempo y espacio. En la reedición de 1999 se incluyen más canciones aunque sigue sin tratarse del concierto entero, a pesar de todo se añadieron canciones como "I'm Not in Your Town to Stay", "I've Got a Woman", "Long Legged Guitar Picking Man" y una melodía bastante diferente a la canción original de "Greystone Chapel".En 2003 este álbum de Cash fue uno de los 50 álbumes escogidos por la Biblioteca del Congreso de Estados Unidos y lo agregaron al registro nacional.En 2006 fue elegido #3 de los 40 mejores álbumes de country de la historia del canal Country Music Television (CMT).
