Chico Freeman est un saxophoniste ténor américain né le 17 juillet 1949 à Chicago en Illinois. Il est le fils du saxophoniste de jazz Von Freeman et est diplômé de l'Université Northwestern. Chico Freeman a joué entre autres musiciens avec Wynton Marsalis, Bobby Hutcherson, Hilton Ruiz, Djamel Laroussi, Chaka Khan, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente ou Cecil McBee.
