Eurovision Song Contest 2009
Avramov was born in the small Bulgarian town of Sliven, but later moved to the Bulgarian capital Sofia, where he studied and worked.
He competed in Bulgaria's national contest to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.[1] On 21 February 2009 Avramov won the selection and was chosen represent the country in Moscow, Russia in May, with the song "Illusion".[2] The song and performance were criticised. The Daily Telegraph named it among the 25 most embarrassing Eurovision performances,[1] while Euronews named it "The best of the worst of Eurovision[3]." The song did not make it to the final.
