Pyramid ist ein 1978 veröffentlichtes Musikalbum der britischen Progressive-Rock-Band The Alan Parsons Project.

Hintergrund

Die LP wurde zu einer Zeit konzipiert, in der das allgemeine Interesse an Pyramiden und der Pyramidenenergie sehr hoch war. Eine Pyramide ist auf der Rückseite der Dollarnote abgebildet, es gab Zeitungsberichte über angebliche magische Eigenschaften. Dadurch enthält das Album viele Referenzen an altertümliche Wunder, so auch an die Pyramiden Ägyptens. Dies wird am deutlichsten bei den Titeln What Goes Up… und Pyramania.

Pyramid (stylized as Pyr△mid) is the third album by progressive rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released in 1978. It is a concept album centred on the pyramids of Giza. At the time the album was conceived, interest in pyramid power and Tutankhamun was widespread in the US and the UK.[citation needed] Pyramid was nominated for the 1978 Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.[2]

Pyramid es el tercer álbum de estudio del grupo de rock inglés The Alan Parsons Project.[1] Fue publicado, al igual que su predecesor en 1977, el 1 de junio de 1978 por Arista Records[2] tras sus antecesores Tales of Mystery and Imagination (1976) y I Robot (1977).[3] La portada del álbum corrió a cargo del estudio gráfico Hipgnosis, que ya trabajó con The Alan Parsons Project en otros álbumes.

Основной темой альбома стала Великая пирамида Гизы и древнеегипетская культура, находившиеся в США и Великобритании в те годы на пике популярности. Также в этом альбоме ощущается влияние возникшей в те же годы Новой волны.
