Remasters ist eine Kompilation der britischen Rockband Led Zeppelin. Sie erschien im Oktober 1990 bei Atlantic Records.


Entstehung und Veröffentlichung


Zehn Jahre nach der offiziellen Auflösung der Band und acht Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung von Coda remasterte Jimmy Page mit George Marino in den Sterling Sound Studios in New York City Stücke der acht regulären Studioalben von Led Zeppelin und stellte eine Best-of-Kompilation zusammen. Sie erschien auf Dreifach-LP, Doppel-MC und Doppel-CD, die LP-Ausgabe enthielt allerdings zwei Stücke weniger (Misty Mountain Hop und The Rain Song).

Rezeption


Kritiken zur Kompilation hoben beispielsweise die durch das Remastering verbesserte Klangqualität hervor. So hörte Chris Welch vom Metal Hammer „Gesang, Gitarrenlicks, hier und da kleine Schnörkel von Robert, Jimmy und John Paul, die im Vergleich zu meinen knisternden alten Alben mit einer Klarheit herauskommen, die mich fast umhaut.“[1] Über den Sinn oder Unsinn der musikalischen Zusammenstellung war sich die Presse nicht einig. Remasters wurde entweder als repräsentative Auswahl für Einsteiger oder als weniger lohnend im Vergleich zu den Original-Alben beurteilt.

Led Zeppelin Remasters is a three-LP (or two-cassette or two-CD) compilation album of digitally remastered material by English rock band Led Zeppelin. Containing songs from the band's eight studio albums, it was initially released in the UK and Japan by Atlantic Records on 15 October 1990. The album is essentially a scaled-down version of the four-CD Led Zeppelin Boxed Set.

Сборник, по сути, представляет собой урезанную версию четырехдискового бокс-сета Led Zeppelin (Led Zeppelin Boxed Set), изданного в том же году.
