Per la prima volta, i più grandi successi della Houston sono stati pubblicati in un unico CD. La raccolta ha venduto oltre un milione di copie nel Regno Unito.[14]

Ad eccezione di "I'm Your Baby Tonight", le canzoni più dance contenute nella raccolta non sono state remixate ma sono presenti nelle loro versioni originali (mentre invece Whitney: The Greatest Hits raccoglieva svariati remix).

Tra febbraio e marzo 2012, in seguito all'improvvisa morte di Whitney Houston, the Ultimate Collection arrivò alla posizione numero 1 delle classifiche in Austria e in Irlanda.

The Ultimate Collection is a Whitney Houston greatest hits collection, released on October 29, 2007.[1] It was the first time a single CD of Houston's hit singles had been released. It debuted at number five in the UK, with sales of 37,228. It climbed to number three in its second week on the chart. As of December 2020, the album has sold over 1.800.000 copies in the United Kingdom. In Brazil, the album was released as Whitney Houston – The Best So Far. In 2011, it was reissued as All Time Best - Reclam Musik Edition in Germany and Switzerland.
